ABOUT
Living Altars was founded by husband and wife team Mary and Will McQuate, who share a deep passion for honoring nature, thoughtful design, and creative innovation. Together, they’ve built a brand that bridges the beauty of sacred living with modern life to offer tools and spaces that inspire connection, reflection, and meaning.
Rooted in Craft, Guided by Intention
With backgrounds spanning fine craftsmanship, design, holistic wellness, and Eastern philosophy, Mary and Will bring a rare synergy to their work. Their creations are not just objects, but invitations to slow down, to reconnect, and to infuse daily life with ritual and reverence.

Meet the Founders
Mary McQuate
Mary McQuate is a visionary creative blending art, design, Eastern philosophy, and holistic wellness to cultivate intentional spaces and experiences. A multidisciplinary artist and trained practitioner, her work lives at the intersection of the sacred and the sensory where intuition and ritual becomes medicine, and form carries meaning.
With over 15 years of experience in yoga, meditation, nutrition, and anatomy, Mary brings depth and precision to her creative process. Her training in Ayurvedic and Tibetan medicine is woven with ancestral wisdom, intuitive insight, and a lifelong devotion to the unseen patterns that shape both our inner and outer worlds.
Through objects, rituals, and guided transformation, she builds worlds that help others remember: the body is intelligent, the home is sacred, and the way we live is a creative act.
WILL McQuate
Will McQuate is a builder, craftsman and ecological designer who works at the intersection of structure, movement, and natural intelligence. With a background in fine carpentry, sustainable design, and systems thinking, his work is rooted in the belief that the spaces we shape, within and around us, directly influence how we live, heal, and grow.
Trained in biochemistry, nutrition, anatomy, and Toltec philosophy, Will brings a deep understanding of both the physical body and the energetic systems that support it. With extensive study in functional movement he guides others in restoring strength and vitality from the inside out. Whether designing a home or supporting someone through physical reintegration, Will’s work is grounded in presence and precision. Through his dual lens as craftsman and holistic guide, he invites a return to wholeness, where body intelligence and the built environment reflect and reinforce each other.

More Than a Brand…..A Way of Living
Living Altars is a call to return to what is sacred within our homes, our rituals, and ourselves. Every piece we create carries the essence of intentionality, craftsmanship, and the natural world, serving as a reminder that beauty and meaning are found in the everyday.
Welcome to Living Altars where the objects in your life should tell a story, and every moment becomes a ritual.
